The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PanAvest Foundation and Development Trust (PFDT), a West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership (WAISCL), to foster human capital development and institutional growth agenda in the area of Supply Chain Management in the University.
Dr. Douglas Boateng, the head of PFDT and also the leader of West African Institute for Supply Chain Leadership (WAISCL) gave the genesis of the foundation and the avenues through which many reputable organizations have benefitted through the supply chain management programme. He also recounted the challenging and positive impacts of PanAvest on society. He gave insight into what Supply Change Management is all about. He mentioned that, one of the foundation's objectives is to create other resources for the growth of KNUST.
He acknowledged the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. W.O.Ellis; Mr. Jonathan Annan, Mr. David Asamoah, Mr. Yeboah, Mr. Frimpong (all in School of Business); his parents, Nana P.K Boateng and Mrs. Rita Boateng for their immense contribution in the establishment of PFDT. He revealed that, in collaborating with KNUST, PanAvest would target final year and postgraduate students in the School of Business, Medical sciences, Mining, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and production, Healthcare, Pharmaceuticals, Chemical Engineering, Social Sciences, Financial services, ICT, Education, Law to name but few where opportunities and prospects in Supply Chain Management education and training would be duly explored.
The Vice-Chancellor commended the Business School for championing the initiative of PanAvest and pledged the unflinching support of the University for the Foundation. The MOU was signed by both institutions.
Members of the Boateng family, Ophelia Poku Amankwaah Boateng, Martha Boateng and Andrew Poku - Amankwaah with representatives from the School of Business were also present.
